Discover your inner world words

You know when you’re scrolling through IG or Pinterest and you come across those posts or pins that spotlight specific words and they just make you feel SEEN?

Like the Universe opened a curtain to your soul, saw what you were hiding down there, and made sure it got posted somewhere you would see it just so you could feel SEEN...and INSPIRED?

Let me tell you what I mean.

Here are some of the words that make me stop scrolling and just sink into them as if they are warm, cozy blankets inviting me to wrap myself up in them and write stories.

Pluviophile: a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days.

Isolophilia: strong affection for solitude, being alone

Caim: an invisible circle of protection, drawn around the body with the hand, that reminds you that you are safe and loved, even in the darkest times

Ineffable: too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words

Cafuné: (Brazilian/Portuguese) the act of tenderly running your fingers through someone’s hair

Querencia: a place where one feels safe, a place from which one’s strength of character is drawn

Komorebi: (Japanese) sunlight that filters through the leaves of trees

Oneirataxia: the inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality

These words invoke places deep in my soul, places where my stories come from. They are words that can help me create magical tales.

I love searching for my inner-world words. I even have a Pinterest board full of them when I need a little inspiration.

Do any of these words resonate with you (or is this just a vocab lesson)??

What words invoke inspiration and invigorate your tales?

If you want to find some words of your own, start scrolling through Pinterest using "words" as a keyword or subscribe to Word Genius and get a daily word of the day. Or download WordBook for their words of the day.

And of course, read more books. One of the best little joys are those words that pop out at you, words you resonate with or words you learn for the first time and think...that's ME. I feel that.

Go on...go find your words. ;)
